If yes, then this is your opportunity to join Blackwood, one of Scotland’s leading care providers as a Team Leader based in our Edinburgh Care Services – Night Support Service which runs from 10pm to 7am, 7 days a week. As we continue to grow our care at home services in Edinburgh, our team leaders are central to our success. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individuals who can inspire and lead their team to deliver positive outcomes for our customers, allowing them to continue to live independently in their own homes.
This Team Leader post is on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2019 to lead a team of Support Workers who support people across the city remotely at night in both planned and emergency situations using our digitally enhanced care system CleverCogs™.
Blackwood aims to build confidence in the use of this service as a means of enabling people to reduce the reliance on staff in their home during night time hours. Based in a local community hub in Edinburgh West, our night support Team Leader is a crucial role in ensuring our Support Workers are available to make contact through CleverCogs™ in the event of a customer needing assistance within a contracted response time.
In emergency situations, your role will be to assess the needs of our night support customers and what level of service provision is required after initial triaging by our Support Workers. You will also be ensuring that planned calls are delivered in line with customers’ personal support plans.
The successful candidate will work with their team to ensure service quality, performance and regulatory standards are maintained, and build strong relationships with customers, their families and other partners.
The ideal candidate must have:
Experience of managing a care team, ideally within a Care at Home service
Experience of motivating a team to deliver personalised, outcomes-based care
The ability to effectively manage shifts and rotas for their team
Strong IT skills and a keen interest in using technology to deliver care services
A relevant qualification (SVQ3), not essential as training will be given
Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including some day time shifts
