IT Officer, (18/18), Head Office, Edinburgh

Head Office, Edinburgh, 35 hours per week
£28,008 - £30,278 per annum
Blackwood currently have a vacancy for an IT Officer in our Business Solutions team. As we are award-winning investors in innovation and technology, our IT Officer plays an important role by providing direct and remote technical assistance and guidance for software, hardware and networking to our services across the organisation – a key deliverable within the Business Plan.
What are we looking for?
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an IT support function
  • Excellent communication/problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • High quality 1st / 2nd line support to our customers
  • Ability to work well under pressure and reactive to urgent issues
  • Confident and proficient in IT systems management
  • Good working knowledge of IT best practices and compliance with relevant legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulations
What IT knowledge and skills do I need to have?
  • Experience of Windows 7, 10 and Microsoft server technologies
  • Experience of Citrix XenApp 6.5 or above
  • Experience of phone system administration and configuration such as Avaya
  • System administration tools including Active Directory and SCCM
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 with exchange online administration
  • Knowledge of mobile device management applications such as Airwatch
The IT Officer will work alongside the Business Solutions Manager and Senior IT Officer to deliver our Strategy and Business Plan by ensuring all our IT systems are effectively monitored and maintained. Whilst relevant IT qualifications are desirable, your ability to ensure our IT infrastructure is accessible, reliable and safe for our care, housing and corporate services teams to deliver services to our customers is more important.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service and relationship building skills with all Blackwood teams, customers and external suppliers. There is a requirement to travel in this post and while the ability to drive is desirable, it is not essential.
